Use driveway paving to enhance the value of your home
Posted on: 22/01/2014Are you considering, or in the process of, selling your home? If you live in the country you may not want to pave over your beautiful country garden, but for those living in an urban area where parking is at a premium it is something that could dramatically increase the value of your property.
Speaking on The Telegraph’s website in 2010, Location Location Location presenter Phil Spencer listed paving over the front garden as one of his twenty ways of adding value to a property.
"You may need planning permission and may have to spend £10,000-£20,000, but added value could be £50,000" – Phil Spencer
To back this up, research by the Nationwide building society found that a parking space could potentially add 8.1% to the value of your home, with single and double garages adding 11.1% and 20.4% respectively.
So if your front garden looks more like a wasteland than a bed of roses, perhaps it is worth considering a paved driveway. For help, advice and free quotations do not hesitate to contact us!
