Driveway and Garden Paving: Before and After (Video)

Posted on: 26/08/2016

Before and after pictures are a great way to show the improvements good paving work can make to a property – but we went one better and made a before and after video. See for yourself why we were called in and how our paving dramatically improved the driveway and garden of this lovely house.

Before

There are a few problems that even the untrained eye will notice here: the cracked and wobbly paving, the unevenly laid concrete strips leading to the garage, the lack of suitable drainage and some overgrown bamboo. The owners of this property called us in to neaten things up and create a smarter exterior for the summer.

After

The first thing visitors to this house will notice is the driveway. Elegant brickweave has replaced cracked concrete and tiles all the way from the shiny new drain at the gateway to the garage door. Travelling clockwise around the front of the house, we follow a path of Autumn Gold and Autumn Cotswold paving slabs to a large patio. Slabs of three different sizes comprise this terrace. The paved path continues around the back of the house until it meets the driveway again.

Where the patio meets the house you can see shingle. This French Drainage system lets rainwater return naturally to the ground. Without this, your property might experience damp problems from excess pooling of water after a heavy downpour.

When you call us in to carry out paving work, we remove all of your old slabs and concrete as part of our comprehensive service. In this case, we also took away the top foot of bamboo contaminated topsoil.
