5 Ways to Make the Most of Your Patio this Summer
Posted on: 03/08/2016A good patio can be used all year round, but summer is the season when it really comes into its own. Whether you prefer entertaining friends and family to Sunday barbecues or working your way through the Booker longlist on the sun lounger, your patio is the perfect place to do it. Here are our tips for making the most of your patio this summer.
1. Soak up the Sunshine
The patio will probably be one of the hottest places in your garden. The paving stones and the walls of your house store and reflect the sun’s heat – perfect for sun worshippers! Just make sure everyone’s got plenty of sunscreen on.
2. Catch Some Shade
Think about providing some shade for when the sun is at its hottest. Set up a large patio umbrella or, if you’re feeling green-fingered, grow climbing plants along a trellis to provide a sweetly scented area of dappled shade.
3. Get Some Patio Furniture
If you want to host garden parties this summer, then you will want a big table and some chairs. You can always bring indoor chairs outside if you need to provide for extra guests on a sunny day. For secluded sunbathing, nothing beats a patio sunlounger with a fat cushion and a low table beside it – accessorised with a gin and tonic, of course!
4. Dress It Up
There are plenty of things you can add to your patio. From water features and sundials to birdbaths and planters. How about a giant chessboard to play games with the kids, or a collection of cheeky garden gnomes?
5. Make It Look Brand New
Don’t let weeds and wobbly paving slabs spoil the enjoyment of your patio this summer. At Knight’s Paving and Landscaping, we offer a full paving restoration service. Our four step process will have your patio (or driveway) looking as good as new.
